Days by moonlightDays by moonlight : a novel

By Andre Alexis

Botanist Alfred Homer is invited on a road trip by his parents’ friend Professor Bruno. This is a journey through an underworld that looks like southern Ontario’s. It is a land of house burnings, werewolves, witches, and plants with unusual properties. The novel is a darkly comic portrait of two beings: Alfred Homer and the Southern Ontario he loves. Winner of the 2019 Writers Trust Award for Fiction.

By Jenny Heijun Wills

Wills was born in Korea and adopted as an infant into a white family in small-town Canada. In her late twenties, she reconnected with her first family in Seoul. She describes in visceral, lyrical prose the painful ripple effects that follow a child’s removal from a family, and the rewards that can flow from both struggle and forgiveness. Winner of the 2019 Writers Trust Award for Nonfiction.
