Weekend Picks

Pack your poncho, and get out and enjoy this year’s Rainmaker Rodeo.

Sixteen wild horses, five states, four men and 3000 miles. The journey of a lifetime riding from Mexico to Canada through the deepest backcountry in the American West to see the remaining open spaces and prove the worth of 50,000 wild horses and burros currently in holding pens.

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford

Robert Ford, who’s idolized Jesse James since childhood, tries hard to join the reforming gang of the Missouri outlaw, but gradually becomes resentful of the bandit leader.

Maybe one of the most divisive movies of all-time: you either loved it or hated it. Easily my favorite Western- there is a certain stillness and a rich development of characters not often found in film. If you bucked off of this bronc at your first rodeo, saddle up one more time… it’s real a purdy film.
