After an unusual and inspiring dream, an unorthodox acting teacher attempts to push a group of eager young performers out of their comfort zones, while struggling with his own ability to live an authentic and fulfilling life with his teenage son.
Based on James Franco’s collection of short stories: April is torn between an illicit flirtation with her soccer coach and an unrequited crush on her classmate Teddy. Fred, a live wire without filters or boundaries, seduces Emily, a promiscuous loner who seeks validation through sexual encounters. As one high school party bleeds into the next, April and Teddy struggle to admit their mutual affection and Fred’s escalating recklessness starts to spiral into chaos.
This just might be the best, or at least the most realistic and believable film about the suburban teen experience, ever to have been made.
